Pros

A great company to work for if you like working long hours, love office politics and consider every day that you go into work a bonus (that you haven't been given the chop yet). If you're a programmer, you get to write hacky code because you're under constant pressure from management to do it their way rather than the proper way. So, no need to worry about good software design principles and practices. If you right good code, it will go unnoticed. If you write bad code, but do it really quick, you will be part of the small trusted circle of golden boys, as long as you're the same religion as them.

Cons

Politics are rife throughout this company, and any good member of staff that enters will be fed to the lions very quickly as gossip, jealousy and backstabbing will become a daily feature of their career within the company. Management are competent technologists, but have very little understanding about how to manage people, and prefer instead to wade through the mountain of politics with spin and pretence. The general ethos is, make staff believe they are integral to the future of the company, but as soon as their worth is deemed dispensable, usually by the hand of the trusted circle of golden boys, remove them from the company without any dignity whatsoever, not even an acknowledgement or thanks for previous good work. Upper management are highly Machiavellian in their approach to running the projects and staff and this is filtered down to middle management who seem to obsessed with staff working excessively long hours, constantly inventing new processes, and painstakingly deliberating over irrelevant details for the sake of technical debate, rather than considering the real issues facing the software such as internal back-scratching to rush badly-designed and poor-performing code into production just to keep management happy.
