Dear Colleague,
Firstly, thank you for leaving us a review. At Checkout.com we’re always looking for ways to better support our team members, so we really appreciate the feedback.
We’re happy to hear you feel we work hard to implement a culture in which dedicated individuals can be recognised. We strive to make our workplace a meritocratic environment for everyone, which is why we were proud to promote 90 team members in our last review cycle due to their diligent and effective work.
We take your accusations of harassment and racist behaviours incredibly seriously as they are in complete contrast with our values and we care deeply about creating a safe and inclusive environment for all of our team members. Our Dignity at Work and Equal Opportunities policy both outline our zero-tolerance stance on any kind of discrimination. We also have a clear escalation process to report any behaviour that does not align with our values, and our whistleblowing tool is in place for any team member that would prefer to raise concerns anonymously. Many of these initiatives were implemented by the People team at Checkout.com, who work tirelessly to maintain the integrity of these policies and processes.
We are very proud of what we have achieved as a business to date, but believe success should never come at the expense of our people’s wellbeing. Our commitment to employee wellbeing has never been stronger, with weekly communications sharing events, resources, tools and initiatives to support employees through this tough time - and beyond. Our anonymous employee assistance programme is also there to offer our people 24/7 support.
When it comes to business politics, our annual review process is designed to fairly reward dedicated and effective work. We have also introduced upward-manager reviews into the process, giving us a truly 360-degree feedback system and promoting open and honest communication. Any departures from the business that came from this year’s annual review were based entirely on performance only.
Ultimately, we are always working to improve our business to ensure all of our people feel supported and able to succeed. We are sorry that your experience at times didn’t match this and we would welcome the opportunity for an open and honest discussion if you are open to it.
