Pros

I have been working here for 6 months. In general, they invests some good technical stack and tools. We are having some interesting and challenging problems. They offer good salary but not great due to stressful job and workload you have. You work with some good engineers. Office is nice and having free lunch.

Cons

CKO is having a very toxic working environment. My mental health was worse in CKO and it took me 1 month to recover. The salary is not very good with your stressful job at CKO. You have long working hours, officially from 9-6pm but you are expected to work longer than that. There is not working life balance at all in CKO. The worst thing is the line manager, it is a very micromanagement. They are not honest and very political. They are not here to help you, they are here to criticize you and they will give you some impossible missions if they dont like you. There are not constructive feedbacks at all from my line manager, all feedbacks were negative feedbacks, even he refused to say some good feedbacks from other team. In particularly, he just tried his best to find your faults and mistakes, even I have worked hard and delivered my tasks in a good way and positive manner ( I can say my works are better than other senior devs). There was no good onboarding process at all. You joined, you worked hard and you got the negative feedbacks as well as horrible mental health. They said that they applied hybrid working scheme but there is no flexible at all, you are expected to come back to the office 2 fixed days a week. I dont see any career opportunities in here. I will definitely and strongly not recommend my friends to join CKO. Especially, you have kids and they will not understand. Especially, they just sacked 100 people few months ago. CKO is my worst working experience I have ever had. But thank you for help me to recognize what important are in my life.

Chaos, Absolute Chaos

Pros

The closer team are excellent and the general interactions with the wider employee base on a personal level are really nice. There are lots of like minded individuals and people for the most part want to help.

Cons

Everything is in termoil. There is no strategy for the company, departments, or teams. No throught it put any further than whats coming next, everything is knee jerk which triggers wide spread panic across the business Communication is terrible, a series of redundancies has been spun as "people's time to leave" "reorientating for success" or "value engineering" and people just disappeared overnight. I daren't put my status on Slack as 'Vacationing' as people will assume I've been fired. Change mangement is not a thing. There is no consultation or thought for how change may impact the employee base including bringing everyone back to work. If you show signs of dissent or oppose what the Senior Leaders believe to be the right course of action, you are barred from those meetings. Making it seem like a unanimous vote, where as actually they've removed all those oppposed. Forced Glassdoor posts. In my first 3 months I was chased almost daily to post a Postive 5* Glassdoor post - which frankly is unacceptable- all for positive image on here, to cover up the utter chaos that reigns at Checkout.com.

Pros

No goals! You can basically coast in your role here

Cons

Lack luster leadership. Management’s solution to diversity and equality is creating events where they attend to show their presence but in reality they treat women and other minorities as disposable individuals.
