Pros

The discount on beauty and skincare is generous. There were nice discounts and gifts the first year that unfortunately ended after the first year the boutique opened. The company as a whole seems very generous with the Beauty Boutique Directors, but the beauty retail salesperson does not feel included or connected.

Cons

Management in the California Beauty Boutiques do not promote from within. Employees who have been with the company in various locations are still at the same sales level after multiple years with the company. Employees with years of experience who expressed interest in advancing their career were over looked, while new managers were brought in from outside the company. Some of those brought in as managers had no experience in cosmetics or retail. There are no discounts on Chanel Fashion purchases. Except for store Directors and Divisional Managers who had their items delivered to the boutique. That was disappointing and discouraging for retail associates.

Pros

Cosmetic discount, nice coworkers, rich history, beautiful space to work in, good benefits.

Cons

Too many to list- management has extreme favoritism, micromanage you and never acknowledge anything positive about the people working under them, demanding clientele with not enough product to go around. Product just goes to the favorites. No growth opportunities unless you’re a favorite. Almost never get the time you requested off, although favorites have set schedules. Won’t get paid the commission you worked your a** off for because the clients survey the store low for reasons that are outside of sales persons control. No work/ life balance- they work you to the bone and still aren’t satisfied.
