      High expectations, disappointing results

      Pros

      Telling people that you work for Chanel, pay was very good, the clothes and accessories are beautiful, and looks great on a resume

      Cons

      Management had issues with communication, organization, and training. The atmosphere was very negative. Most of the management or people who suck up to management have a chip on their shoulder and an elitist attitude. I came in as a temp to assist in a department and was not explained the full scope of what my duties would be and when I asked questions or wanted to learn more, I was scolded rather than receiving help.

      Pros

      Physical environment and product are very luxurious. Compensation plans are designed to recruit and retain the highest quality talent.

      Cons

      Senior Management is totally out of touch with the front line issues of the business. The culture is one of intimidation and lack of support to all except the highest profile players. There is a tremendous amount of dysfunction at the highest levels.

      An amazing brand and company overall - personally was just ready for a career change/transition

      -amazing brand - iconic and rich history -strong compensation package - competitive salary + bonus -pro-women: some incredibly strong and intelligent women in high positions -show appreciation to employees annually in a recognition ceremony -generous with gratis and an amazing annual sale with handbags & RTW -take care of their people - one of the only companies to offer pensions

      Cons

      -operational decision making could be improved -work/life balance can be challenging -promotion opportunities are few and far between and no options for promotion outside of field positions unless you reside in NY
