Pros

Employee Discount is absolutely fantastic.

Cons

Poor management, no leadership - Management puts down other employees to feel better about themselves. The senior management in place obviously didn't succeed anywhere else, and take out anyone they think is smarter than themselves. Theft is rampant.

Toxic corporate culture

Pros

Employee discount, having Chanel on your resume

Cons

The corporate culture within the F&B division set by leadership is extremely toxic, with executives caring only about their own political games and making themselves look good. It didn’t matter if a new process or initiative actually worked under the covers as long as it gave them brownie points with their superiors. The culture only got worse during the pandemic, with certain team leaders forcing their teams into the office during the height of the pandemic. I was once told to “make sure the president sees you here” when I was forced to go in, as if my presence would make them look good. HR generalists are also completely useless in protecting the employees at lower level roles and will ignore complaints about harassment by leaders in order to protect the higher ups. I would avoid working here for your own mental sanity.

Pros

Salary, benefits, generous employee discount, brand name reputation, learned a lot

Cons

The leadership in IT starting from the top caused a big decline over the last several years and has created a toxic culture and stressful work environment. They no longer value loyalty of people who have worked there for so many years, while others who get rewarded and promoted aren’t always the most talented. Many long term employees have been pushed to the sidelines and will eventually be managed out in due time. We have lost some really good talent because of poor leadership. Things used to be much better years ago before everything became so political. It is not the place it used to be. The company had a layoff last year due to COVID, but it was mainly used as an excuse to clean house of long term employees that they wanted to push out. While some positions were truly eliminated, several other job openings were simply reposted online to rehire new people for similar roles. They basically made slight modifications to the title and job description to make the job look different, but in reality the role was basically the same.
