Pros

Competitive salary, nice work environment, cutting edge technology is always a plus, you feel you are doing valuable work, you will become very competent at using the newest editions of related technology, very flexible work hours, many employees come and go as they please

Cons

Not much time off, hard to get to know your co-workers (most are quiet, reserved and do not socialize outside of the office), unequal numbers of men and women but that is to be expected from an engineering company, problems obtaining software licenses for the amount of people using each particular program, some people commute from very far locations every day, not much opportunity for travel, you will be sitting in front of a computer for most of your day

Pros

Pay is good, and employees are gernerally well treated compared to similar companies. There are plenty of opportunities for a broad work experience with good lateral mobility. The company is being well run at the corporate level, there's a good strategy and clear direction for the future.

Cons

There's so much corporate control and inertia that it can be very frustrating to get the job done in any novel way. Red tape in general is overbearing. The emphasis is on averting risk, rather than encouraging enterprise. The company is very slow to adopt new practices, especially in HR areas.

Pros

Job opportunities have improved with slightly improved options of moving around in department. Good technical environment with opportunity to be involved in projects. Slowly moving in the right direction of providing support and growth opportunities. Training plan with a minimum of 5 days external training in a year plus other internal training courses. Good access to WBT library

Cons

Still need to improve on coaching people when they take on new roles. Management need to be seen to be actively managing and coaching and not sticking their heads in the sand when problems arise. Need to understand that a good technical person does not make a good team leader or manager.
