Cons

CarMax’s strong culture doesn’t happen by accident, it’s built and protected by the associates who choose to contribute to it every day. Throughout my career, I’ve worked with both great and not-so-great leaders and also challenging coworkers, but those experiences never made CarMax a bad place to work. Instead, they reinforced the importance of challenging when something doesn't seem right, sharing feedback, and helping drive positive change. The culture thrives because people are willing to invest in it, and that’s what makes CarMax a rewarding place to build a career and grow.

Pros

Great Leadership that is always there to help. Growth opportunities were there for those willing to ask and work for them. Carmax's approach as selling vehicles to customers was more service oriented than sales and that made my experience honest, fun, and impactful. Grateful for my time with the entire Team at the South Jordan, Utah location.

Cons

If your not used to the sales industry, this would be a great way to gain those skills. Sales is still challenging, so a Con for some and a Pro for others.

Pros

They're pretty inclusive which is nice.

Cons

The pay is ridiculous. There is such thing as a quarter deal. You consistently have to dig cars out of the back lot making a customer wait around and nothing is organized back there.
