Pros

The customers are awesome, the job was fun, the fact that you semi make your own schedule is awesome. I loved the fact that you become family with your co-workers.

Cons

The management is just horrible. Once the new CEO came, it went from Customer focus, to profit driven. The customer is either given a great deal, or a crappy one. It literally was 50/50. The management there is horrible. These people are recruited from other companies, who then drive down some stores. For example, my location had an almost 60% turn-over rate due to these managers. Don't get on their bad side!

A Buyer's Assistant position is a Job not a Career!

Pros

Working at CarMax you gain a lot of lasting friendships

Cons

Salary is a joke. CarMax pays you just enough to make it to work, buy lunch, go home and do it all over again. Very dirty environment. When you leave you are all stained up or wet! They hire you with high hopes of progressing with the company. Every month you have to participate in a File Review that is totally pointless for a Buyer's Assistant. This is the worst job that i have EVER had!
