Good for new graduates who cannot find other jobs

Strong senior leadership team, relatively low bar to join from college, nice people, good work life balance

Cons

Low competent mid-low level management team, lack of talent for innovation, awful IT infrastructure and staff, departments can be political but people avoid to admit it, little useful training for associate development, headquarter people get decent pay while doing nothing useful, store associates who contribute most directly to the company work hard but only being paid sadly

The company is really geared towards their employees development, both personally and professionally. They provide their employees with a variety of different tools to accomplish their goals.

Cons

CarMax's management team is very political. You have to be friends with your management team and other departments management team in order to move up in the company or transition into another department.

Benefits (medical, dental,vision). When you are a fresh face your opinion matters. If you are a top performer you can go very far.

Cons

Surveys will tell your story. If a manager impacts your work results they are not held accountable. If the team has poor results Carmax doesn't ever blame the coach. Every associate is replaceable.
