Pros

Good engagement into the company. I joined on the ATP programme and met fellow associates who I am good friends with to this day.

Cons

Not sure where to begin. Capco is body shop specialist to the world of finance. They simply undercut other consultancies to push people into roles that no one wants. Therefore majority of projects are awful (>80%). Ever wondered why Capco are constantly on a hiring spree? That's because they have so many people leave each year they need to fulfil their spaces. Not to mention the politics with in the organisation, another reason to leave. You need to be on a project for plus 1 year to be promoted realistically as AO with a great relationship with your manager. If you don't have these two characteristics I’d advise finding a new company to work for or at the very least changing projects. I had an awful 3 years at Capco constantly moving from project to project and when I began looking for a new company the pandemic hit. I then had the worst manager of my career in my final project and despite my complaints to HR and senior managers I was simply ignored and no one wanted to take responsibility. As a result 5/6 of my team left when lockdown began to lift. Looking around my account, so many people have also left which shows the toxicity of the place. The whole corporate structure needs abolished and started again. I wish the firm was as good as its marketing team make it out to be.

Thank you for the positive feedback on Capco and our ATP programme. We strive to recruit smart colleagues, provide the support and resources for them to grow and work on incredible projects. Like any rapidly growing consulting firm, Capco has a variety of projects. The vast majority are high quality and truly engaging. For Capco our people are our most important asset and Capco secures competitive advantage from developing and promoting talent more quickly than our competitors. All our leaders are disproportionately focused on recognising and realising potential and rewarding success. More importantly, we can show success and outperformance in the sector, both in the proportion of junior staff choosing to build a rewarding career in Capco and our success in differentiating the firm through rapid promotion. With that in mind, It is clear from your comments that your experience of Capco may not have been typical, and we would urge you to speak with your coach and local HR contact so we can address your concerns, offer support and make improvements in your case and more generally, if necessary. We believe that feedback truly allows us to learn, grow and improve, so please share your experience with our local team.

Pros

- Great Exposure to financial industry as a new graduate or new to industry - understaffed projects means you get to do more senior work - Good people and generally relaxed atmosphere - good pay for associate level comparative to industry.

Cons

- understaffed projects means you’re under more stress and are not recognized for it - Unclear promotion timelines and criteria. - Boring and repetitive digital transformation projects being pitched as more significant than they are. - learning and development is promoted but not thorough enough. - Culture of learning and becoming technology industry leaders is fading. - Not enough pressure to do things in structured manner. Projects always on fire. Never seen a relatively smooth project. - over promising program timelines and forcing entire projects to deliver work yesterday. - burn out for associates who do a lot of invisible work to keep project afloat. - Promotion is based too much on how much you campaign versus a healthy balance between work and campaigning.

Thank you for your positive feedback on the culture, opportunities to learn and pay at Capco. Thank you also for your feedback on some of the challenges with project-based work. The range of projects in a global consulting firm will inevitably mean that some are more suited to your skills and aspirations than others, but Capco has more than its fair share of genuinely disruptive projects that are shaping the future of financial services. Similarly, there will be instances when the timelines and deliverables on a project will be demanding and consultants need to be flexible and adaptable to meet client needs. The satisfaction that results from responding effectively to these challenges is what motivates some people to build a career in consulting. People that show the capabilities and commitment valued by our clients and the firm will enjoy accelerated progression at Capco compared with our competitors. We apply a rigorous performance process to identify our best performers. All assessments are subject to approval by a range of stakeholders and employees can appeal outcomes or highlight issues so we have confidence that the process is fair.

Pros

There are things you can get involved with at the junior level but it’s not worth it at all at this firm

Cons

Everything you can possibly think of. Terrible culture, does not pay well, ALL the projects are horrible pmo and staff aug aka you will not learn anything and be bored out of your mind and will severely affect your exit opportunities. I got promoted quickly since everyone at the firm just does not work hard but it just shows your hard work won’t matter. DO NOT JOIN. Also the subtlety racist and sexist culture that exists at the firm (no partners are diverse minus 2/like 30) and there only 1 woman partner in the ny office. They put on a huge facade of promoting diversity with events and what not but no concrete action is ever taken and diversity is not reflected in promotions. Also the firm is getting bought by Wipro which means even worse reputation coming.

Thank you for your feedback. Hearing from employees gives us an opportunity to improve the experience of our people. Like any consultancy, there is a broad range of work at Capco—from strategy development to implementation. On any client engagement, employees are working with leading blue-chip players in Financial Services, helping to solve hard, complex problems. Alongside PMO-type projects, there are a range of innovative projects that are shaping the FS market, where our consultants identify new opportunities to drive meaningful change. Our people are the most important part of Capco, and we are committed to helping you advance your career. Our growth rates continue to outperform the market, and our learning opportunities and leadership teams support rapid development and progression for top performers. Our robust, employee-driven events calendar is one of many ways we demonstrate our commitment to our inclusive, #BeYourselfAtWork culture. Over the past 12 months, we have taken the following steps on our D&I journey, and look forward to doing more: • Appointed a record number of female Partners, Associate Partners and Executive Directors. • Reconfirmed our commitment to DE&I and our zero-tolerance policy on discrimination, unfair behavior or harassment. • Introduced active monitoring of promotions for under-represented groups. • Set goals to increase diverse representation within our workforce and leadership teams. • Developed action-based DE&I plans across all our businesses. • Appointed our first Global DE&I leader. • Rolled out new DE&I training to all leaders, with training for all employees to follow. • Launched three global affinity groups (Women@Capco, Ability@Capco and Pride@Capco) to complement the wide range of local affinity groups already in place. We see a future partnership with Wipro as being nothing but beneficial to Capco employees. Capco will retain its identity, core processes and terms & conditions, and will be supported by a global player, enabling us to complement our consulting offering with enhanced implementation and technology expertise. This is good news for clients—who get a more holistic solution to issues—and for Capco, which will grow. This scalability creates more project opportunities and more rewarding careers for our people. If you would like to discuss your feedback and any suggestions in confidence, please reach out to Mary Keller, US HR Director or Dee McDougal, Global Head of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.
