Pros

Capco has a truly wonderful culture of mentorship. If you prove yourself to be a smart, hard-working individual who is invested in the company, the partners will go out of their way to help you succeed.

Cons

If you're interested in a wider-view of the consulting industry--and are not truly passionate about the financial services industry--you may find Capco's work to be a bit limited. They work exclusively with financial services firms, and the vast majority of the projects are run-the-bank or technology integration work. It can be under stimulating for those that don't care about this.

Pros

Smart people who have deep technical expertise in their subject domain area. Strong content training material. Reasonably good knowledge sharing culture. The focus is on technical skills (rather than consulting ones)

Cons

There is not much sense of the collective. You will just roll on from one (stressful) project to another. The variation of capability within grade will make you cast a sceptical look toward those more senior (by title) in the firm. Can appear to be a revolving door of partners at times.

Better than the competitors

Pros

Plenty of opportunities to make a difference and impact performance. Access to partners is great. Compensation is competitive. Interesting and challenging work.

Cons

Benefits are barely average. Back office is not very good (although there have been some improvements). Over the past few months, backslide in things like e-mail and mobile access to internal systems. Some inconsistent messages from leadership on occasion. Extremely high demands on time/long working hours.
