Pros

- Informal culture, which can feel more relaxed depending on your team. - Some genuinely kind and collaborative colleagues across projects.

Cons

- Inconsistent leadership quality: emotional instability and reactive behaviour from some leads does not reflect the standards expected in a professional consultancy. - Minimal bonuses; limited financial recognition for impactful work. - Advancement often tied more to self-promotion and internal networking than to performance or delivery quality. - Quiet high performers can be overlooked while visibility and politics are rewarded disproportionately.

Thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback. We appreciate you recognizing the positive aspects of our culture, including the collaboration across teams. We recognize that individual experiences can vary; however, consistency in leadership and behavior is a strong focus for us. Many of our senior leaders, including members of the executive team, have built their careers at Capco, which brings stability and a shared understanding of our expectations. Our Code of Conduct and core values apply to all employees and are reinforced through regular communication and training to ensure a respectful and professional environment. We support all individuals to broaden their Capco network through open access to internal events, communities, and domain and capability forums. Through these events, employees can build connections and shape their own career paths. We also have dedicated Resourcing teams in all regions who work to align individuals with roles based on their skillsets, career aspirations, and client and business needs. In terms of performance and progression, we have a structured approach to performance and promotion, with two review cycles each year supported by a transparent framework with clear metrics and weightings. Employees are supported by a dedicated coach, and feedback is gathered from multiple stakeholders – and performance reviewed in calibration sessions - to help ensure a fair and well-rounded assessment process. We are committed to continuing to strengthen leadership capability, consistency, and recognition across the firm, and we appreciate you sharing your perspective.

Pros

Working as a Consultant you have the opportunity to be exposed to many different roles and companies, giving you a wealth of experience within your specialty.

Cons

There's a lot of politics - you need to know the right people in order to progress. Additionally, performance reviews and general career development is extremely difficult. Although Capco offers 2 reviews per year, the review process has far too many hoops and hurdles to make it 'easy'. When everyone is hired, they're told they could progress within 6 months however it's unheard of for anyone to progress this quickly.
