Pros

Things have definitely gotten a lot better at Capco over the past year. The head of the office is a great guy who genuine supports peoples' career progression not only in terms of the work we do for our clients but also personally in terms of training, socials, networking etc. Overall there is a lot of opportunity to learn and progress through the company. The performance management and promotion procedures are very meritocratic as everything is heavily scrutinized by a wide range of people. I personally know of good performers who have deservingly moved through the ranks fairly quickly so I'm pleased to see good work recognized. People are also really nice to work with. There is overall a good office atmosphere.

Cons

There is a very aggressive growth plan for the company and there are worries that Capco will lose the people focus.

Thanks for your review and we are delighted to hear that you enjoy working at Capco. In particular it's great to hear your feedback on the performance management and promotion processes. These are very robust processes, and a lot of time and energy is invested by those involved to ensure that all employees receive regular developmental feedback and opportunities to progress in their career. It's unclear from your post which office you are based in, however, we are pleased to hear that you feel there have been significant improvements and that you enjoy the work environment and myriad of opportunities on offer. Capco is continuing to focus on its ambitious growth plans, however, the leadership team is committed to retaining it's focus on our people. This is something which was reiterated at a recent employee event in London by both our CEO and UK Managing Partner. Thanks for your continued contribution to the Capco team!

A Great Place to Work!

Pros

I have worked at Capco for 6+ years now and can honestly say it's one of the best places I have ever worked for a number of reasons: Capco People - you will read this in other reviews, but the people are what really make the difference at Capco. People genuinely want to help you, they are approachable, with a diverse range of backgrounds and interests. I knew very little about Capco before joining, but the people I met during the recruitment process made me sure that it was somewhere I wanted to join! The fact that there is little hierarchy within the firm and that people don't get hung up on levels really helps this. Opportunity - as a member of the Corporate Services team, I've had 3 different roles in my time at Capco. For a firm that runs lean back office functions, this has never meant a lack of opportunity for my development and career growth and lots of people I know have made upwards as well as sideways moves. With Capco's new independence, there is a huge amount of opportunity for both career progression and shaping the firm. Capco culture - lots of people worry that this will be eroded with Capco's growth. We were around 200 people when I joined the UK team and we're now 800+, however, the culture has evolved with this, rather than eroded. Different people bring different ideas to the firm, this in turn has shaped the culture. It still remains a unique and fun place to work as a result. Employees can have their say, take ownership of initiatives with the support of the business, there's little bureaucracy, there are some great communities and groups to get involved with, there are recognition programs, lots of training opportunities and some really great social events and parties! If you are looking to join a firm where your opinions count, where people genuinely care, where you can work on challenging projects and be recognized and rewarded for it, where you can progress your career in a firm that's really going places and where you can have fun, join Capco!

Cons

Consulting is a fast-paced business, it isn't a 9-5 job and so may not be for everyone.
