Pros

I really like the work atmosphere and people I work with at CGI. Although I cannot speak from personal experience, I get the impression that other similar consulting companies (Accenture, Booz Allen, ect.) are more demanding of their employees. At CGI, things seem a little more relaxed. I typically work 40 hours a week, and have all my weekends off (of course there have been a few exceptions to this rule). Also, the people that I work with are great. They are smart and work hard, but are also fun and easy to get along with. I also think the work we do is interesting. I think the benefits are really good overall - however, the 401k match could be improved. Finally, the company seems to be doing fairly well.

Cons

The pay might be a little less then some of the more demanding companies I mentioned above; however, I still feel I'm paid a good salary.

Pros

When I joined AMS (before the takeover), it was known for the special AMS spirit. I did, in fact, experience this spirit with many colleagues across a number of different office locations.

Cons

At the time when I worked for AMS, it was obvious that some of the folks in high up management positions simply didn't do a good enough job to inspire confidence in the company's future. This is, of course, my personal opinion.

Pros

Big company, even in slumps don't tend to let people off. Management tends to leave employees alone on their assignments (don't intervein).

Cons

Feels like a religion and a very incestuous place to be, if you're not in the "Gang' you will always be ignored promotions and salary increases. Salary increases are always between 0-5% but usally in the 2-3% corner and doing a good job doesn't change anything. Unless you start looking elsewhere your salary won't go up. Even if you want to change technology, you better be prepared to wait a couple of years (3-5 years). Suck up employees will go far!
