      Missing the work/life balance that others crow about here.

      Pros

      Good people. Good location. Cafeteria food is good. I have the feeling that CGI is trying to do things the right way, they just can't get their act together to do so.

      Cons

      If you are on the wrong project, you will not experience the work/life balance that everyone brags about and they cram down your throats in interviews. The facility is OK at best. Don't expect anything to work unless you have checked yourself. If you get frustrated by coworkers squeaking by doing nothing while you are working hard, I'd recommend against working here.

      Pros

      Lots of job variety, many clients and people to work with and for. In smaller centers the teams are usually small enough that they are friends as well as co-workers

      Cons

      As CGI is a contractor, it must keep it's costs down. I under stand this, but I feel that in the long run they do not compensate near as well as they could. Not having posted wage bands is bad in my opinion based on other companies.

      Pros

      Good salary, good balance of hard work and time to be with family, telecommuting option in many departments.

      Cons

      Poor communication from mgmt regarding decisions, too many software programs to access information from, not enough consistency across the company (policies, job titles, etc). Very rare instances of positive feedback from managers.
