Pros

Very good compensation and benefits. Working with lots of smart people.

Cons

Lots of bureaucracy, a lack of transparency and no stability. It was resolving door of team/department leaders entering and leaving every, single, year. Also some questionable internal transfers to team leadership with no experience in the department. Many people more interested in just CYA / protecting themselves than getting work done. The 360 review system was also very opaque, with no visibility of what was really going on. Although there is no "forced distribution" or reviews, there was a strong recommendation on sticking to an "expected distribution" or review scores leading to some forced lower grades for some employees. This lack of transparency carries through to pretty much every other part of the company from internal communication to external. Poor work-life balance since depending on your team, you have to regularly take early morning calls and late night calls. This basically means you are never really off, and still have to think about work all the time.

Pros

Good benefits, including free food and insurance coverage

Cons

There are countless cons that I can think of regarding this company. Though they pay pretty well compared to the market, they are also well-known for making employees work excessive overtime. Even when you are hospitalized and on hospitalisation leave, you are still expected to perform work. And when you become too ill after overworking, they start penalizing you and claim that you are not meeting the expectations of your role. The leadership shows no sympathy for your situation. As long as you are still with the company and still breathing, all they care about is whether you meet the role's expectations. They do not care about your personal well-being. This company has taught me not to choose a big company with a good paying salary because you will end up working endless overtime and sacrificing your health. The accumulated overtime you've worked makes you feel no different from a laborer. Thank God I left the company and joined a new one that offers greater appreciation and work-life balance.
