Pros

I have learned a lot here, both technical and about the selling process.

Cons

The current sale of the business to Broadcom has caused a lot of internal uncertainty.

Pros

No real positives to work at this place. All of my experiences with this company were negative.

Cons

*Politics interfere with even the smallest of projects *Important corporate level policies are not in place, leaving downstream groups to flounder in ambiguity while they try to solve company level problems *Legal is monolithic in creating new policies *Corporate culture does not reward "Breaking the Status Quo," in fact management would prefer you remain a cog in the machine *You are a number to this company. You are not a person. I had the pleasure of sitting in a meeting with a Senior Director during a hiring phase. To paraphrase what he said: "I want to squeeze those students for what they are worth, because they are going to leave in a year anyway. Pay them as little as we can." *HR is not able to act effectively Examples: - A potential employee who was to be flown on-site to interview was once left in the lurch. He had to call someone outside of HR the night before his interview to frantically figure out how to get to San Jose after his recruiter forgot to purchase his flight. - Scheduling to recruit at a university career fair. After the fair was over, and at the wrong campus location. *There are forced breaks in the work year that require you to use PTO if you want to get paid. This equates to almost the full amount of your starting PTO at the company if you are a new hire. There will be little time left over for vacations, or personal days. *Little room for growth or opportunities for advancement. Career paths end up being more horizontal than vertical.
