Pros

There are no pros to this disgrace of a department

Cons

My experience at Barclays has been deeply disappointing, primarily due to the misleading nature of the role and the toxic work environment. 1. Misleading Role: The position was advertised as a mortgage expert role, but in reality, it turned out to be nothing more than a call center job. This bait-and-switch approach led to a significant loss of trust from the outset. 2. Toxic Management: The management style here is nothing short of bullying. Managers create a culture of fear rather than support, constantly threatening employees and showing little regard for their well-being. This hostile environment made it incredibly difficult to perform even basic tasks. They time your toilet breaks & watch every single thing you do 3. Terrible Bonus Structure: The bonus scheme is a joke. Despite high expectations and relentless pressure to meet targets, the bonuses offered are far from competitive, leaving you feeling underappreciated and undervalued. 4. Overwhelming Workload: The workload is shockingly high, with unreasonable expectations placed on employees. This, combined with the lack of support, makes for an extremely stressful experience. 5. Lack of Team Spirit: There is no sense of camaraderie or team spirit. The threatening and unsupportive atmosphere fostered by management has destroyed any chance of collaboration or mutual respect among colleagues. 6. No Career Progression: There are no clear paths for career development or progression. The few opportunities that do exist are often handed out based on favoritism rather than merit, which is incredibly demoralizing. 7. High Staff Turnover: The misleading nature of the role led to nearly half of the workforce leaving once they realized they had been duped into a call center job. This high turnover is a clear indicator of the deep-seated issues within the company. In summary, working at Barclays has been a highly negative experience. The combination of a misrepresented role, toxic management, poor compensation, and a dreadful work environment makes this a place I cannot recommend.

Pros

The benefits are good and does a lot of activities and groups for employees. The campus is good and the flexibility is great.

Cons

There is something missing if there is a revolving door and there are constant morale issues. The management in some areas like procurement and technology is old school and is not open to new ideas. Also, there is a lot of favoritism and very political with back stabbing prevalent culture. They run programs for development but don't have results to show success. Good place to work if you pick the right department and of course have the right manager

Pros

*Some people leaders are good *3 days work from home ( could be better for flexibility if without anchor days ) *Both side cab ( this might change as per cost cutting ) *Good food ( this might change as per cost cutting )

Cons

* Working now for 4 skill sets due to merger of various profiles but pay is not at all in line with expertise to appreciate or as per market standards as now handling 4 types of calls. *Have been joining pre-shift for at least half hour daily for since COVID. This is beyond my working hours as per agreement. This is without any additional payout which is not fair at all and also not allowed as per Indian labour laws. *Calling to work from office and mandating lan connection not easy as finding working lan system is quite a challenge. *IJP - filled about 50 ijp's out of which 45 rejected with standard response. Often got to know that promotions are pre decided. Does not matter to me as am a hard working person and keep giving my best at level I am. *New dell laptop has serious vpn speed issues over 5g. Lots of my colleagues have same issues. Please provide right tools as this is hampering customer experience. Test these with home wifi. *As I have experience with multiple people leaders - some people leaders argue for leaves even if it is medical emergency in family. Often they say they have already 2 leaves in team which are planned. Please suggest how to plan medical emergencies or sick leave ? *A very serious concern - manager being gender bias - male managers giving female employees extra training time and less work. Having chit chat time with female employees vs. male workers working. This feels to me like I am not working in a diverse environment. *Company does not beleive in retaining talent with compensation benefit but believe in hiring new talent at high packages.
