Pros

The individuals who work for the company are terrific. It is incredibly gratifying to know that your work is contributing to making the world a healthier, better place. The CEO and many of the executives are very nice and approachable.

Cons

BIOVIA focuses its business too much on one or two customers, to the detriment of their other customers and some of their products. Everyone is well meaning, but they rush into decisions without thinking them through and then have to rework when they realize they missed something. The parent company culture at times borders on abusive. One minute everything is sunshine and roses, and the next moment meetings devolve into shouting matches. Employees are often treated like they are interchangeable with no unique skills.

Pros

Strives to be Icarus and has lovely aspirations to be the Apple of Biotech.

Cons

Horrible hodgepodge of software packages that claim to be "interoperable" but provide a really horrible user experience.

Pros

An exciting position within the industry. Some great knowledgeable colleagues providing some fascinating insight. Strong backing from DS and some long-standing valuable customer relationships.

Cons

Real lack of strong management across multiple functions and with it the required accountability to get things done. There is a vast ammount of book passing and 'that's not my role, ask somebody else' that it seems the end result is that the customer isn't being heard. A considerable number of people have left this year and many roles still haven't been recruited for which leaves a rather desolate environment with the water cooler topics tending to guess who's leaving next....
