Pros

Discounts Seeing the team that I work with. Having a good time sharing moments with customers.

Cons

Sometimes your voiced opinions can be overturned if management 'think' it won't be a good idea, but they still listen to it. People who work there before you tend to 'think' they have authority over you when they don't. As a new employee to the big B&M family, I tend to notice that most of the staff who work there think they know better than you, however, I've got plenty of experience behind me (at least 10+ years as both cash office and floor supervisor). They also seem to think that their ideas are better than yours even though, I think logically about space, time, best sellers and how things are going to look.

Pros

The store was close to my home.

Cons

Lazy staff who would rather spend time chasing each other around the store and go for cigarette breaks than do any actual work. Management team who don't know how to manage staff and ignore unacceptable behaviour from staff members. Only 30 minutes training and no induction until 2nd week of employment. Incorrect pay. Refusal of a reference (at store level) upon leaving the business. (HR sorted that!)

Pros

10% discount Other staff and customers are usually friendly.

Cons

No chairs for till staff Automatic doors broke during the winter. Tills are right by doors and it was freezing!! No regular shift patterns. Rota is given at last minute and they slash your hours the minute sales are down. You'll generally work 16 hours over 4 days. Very low wage (less than 600 a month) and management aren't helpful. Lots of favouritism. Management promote their mates and others are overlooked. Staff are scared to speak out due to constant surveillance! Staff are subject to constant searches. Low regard for health and safety during store build. Management sit around watching cameras and drinking coffee whilst staff are working like dogs!
