Pros

Some really good people, 10% discount

Cons

Constant unannounced visits that is expected to be morning opening standards all day with hardly no staff at all to maintain. Workload extremely high with no hours. Very stressful, and expected to change working hours at the drop of a hat. Depts set up with hardly no hours at all mainly setup with mgmt working days off and working far more than contracted to bring payroll in-line. Company used to be great to work at but over the last 12months it’s gone down hill drastically. Can’t see any improvement coming in the near future.

Pros

None at all, none. It’s truly awful.

Cons

You will have no life at all. Expected to be working 7 days a week. Sacked or targeted if any mistakes are made, there are no reasonable people at all, hr are in on it and make complaints disappear. The ROM is rude, doesn’t talk to you on visits and if he does it’s always negative. Culture of break people and then replace them. Salaries are below market average for what is expected of managers making it difficult to fill vacancies so just promote anyone into roles to fill gaps. Store Managers have to work Fri, Sat,and 50% Sundays, so again no family time. Positive reviews on here are because your asked to do a review on your induction when it all feels ok. Then you hit the real world and realise you have made a huge mistake joining this toxic business. Stores are expected to be perfect on little payroll meaning SM’s are doing 80 hr weeks but only paid for 40. If you only work your 40 you won’t be able to get the job done. They also short service anyone under 2 years, for very small things. So if you do join, you will feel unprotected for 2 years. My advice, don’t do it, regardless of what they promise, this really is scrapping the job barrel.

Pros

Good store teams, all work together.

Cons

Poor pay, HORRENDOUS work/life balance; recently introduced new weekend working rules - Friday and Saturday compulsory, then every other Sunday on top of that. Little regard for staff from senior managers - want them worked to the bone on minimum wage. Business looks to cut costs in every area including store maintenance and standards. Been with the business almost a year, it’s like working in a store from 1998, systems and procedures so dated! Avoid unless you’re absolutely desperate!
