Pros

Decent salary. Excellent benefits. Comfortable.

Cons

Simply the most bureaucratic company I've ever had the displeasure to work for. It is a comfortable job, which might be great for some people, but not for me. I want my job to be enriching, challenging and exciting. At Aviva, BS is what will get you far, not your technical ability. Make no mistake, this is not a technology company, no matter how much they like to they are. It is a financial company that has been resting on its laurels for years.

Auto Claims Adjuster

Pros

- Supportive management. - Thorough training for the role. - Consistent recognition of hard work, you will get moved up if youre hard working and take the initiative to learn and evolve. - Gorgeous work space, very accommodating of your office preferences.

Cons

- Upper management favors those individuals who make an attempt to forge personal relationships with them. - In any department, among all other insurance carriers, Aviva is one of the lowest paying insurance carriers in Ontario. Base salary is lower than average and takes some time to go up. Even if it does, it does not make a significant difference. - Workload tends to be pretty overwhelming in the winter. On average a PD adjuster has 140 claims in their name and no other teams assisting in handling these claims. You do it all. At the end of the work day, you don't have the physical or mental capacity to do anything else.

Pros

The benefits are pretty good with six month paternity leave and discount for insurance.

Cons

Not sure where to start. Rumors had it before I joined Aviva that there isn't a clear vision, goals or plans . They go through a restructure every 5mins and it can very, very, unsettling. With most restructures, it's about who you know and not WHAT you know. This applies here at Aviva. I wouldn't waste my time here, the corporate values and the new agency innovation is a massive clash. Digital Garage is a hype which will later lead to a business decision to sell up the place in Hoxton Square. Customer Science is the biggest hype here, they seem to think they are god and but reality is you have too many people talking BS. Insurance and Finance generally is going through a really bad patch (commercially) and Aviva is not the place to join now or in the future.
