Pros

Good work life balance. Decent pay

Cons

I am a full time employee of ARM from 8 year. But now it is very uncertain . Vision is not clear and any time layoff can happen. One layoff just recently happen. Layoff was done very brutally. Employee were not given time to collect their personal belongings. Iteration rate is already very high this year and layoff might have ripple effect. ARM is not best paying company but known for their job stability but now that is not the case.

Thank you for your comments. As mentioned in a response to a previous comment, businesses continuously grow and change, and at Arm we are no different. Recent changes, while difficult and not undertaken lightly, have been made to ensure that we have the right people, with the right skills and capabilities, to allow us to progress. We sought to manage these changes as compassionately as possible, and are fully committed to supporting those who are directly affected, as well as those that continue to work at Arm. We appreciate that this is an unsettling time for many, but we would not be managing the organisation responsibly if we did not ensure we are focusing in the right areas to be able to achieve our strategy. Please be reassured that Arm’s vision hasn’t changed, and we have a huge and exciting opportunity ahead of us. If you feel able to do so, please speak to your line manager about your concerns, or if you would like to discuss this further with me, please get in touch via Glassdoorfeedback@arm.com

Disappointing

Pros

Not applicable. I don't have even 5 words.

Cons

- Memory compiler releases scheduled on Thanksgiving & other holidays in addition to regular releases every 2 weeks. - Hectic schedule makes it hard to follow what is going in the team. - Not a positive environment to learn and grow. - Senior team mates don't generally provide simple answer to basic queries raised by junior engineers. - Very low pay for junior employees compared to other employers in the bay area. - Bonus and other compensations are not competitive.

Thank you for your service at Arm and the candid review. We see many good reviews about the employee experience at Arm, but we appreciate that you have taken the time to let us know your thoughts. Arm values teamwork, innovation and individuality. We strive to ensure there is a work-life balance within Arm; however, the schedules for engineering releases might conflict as we’re all working to deliver the best solutions for our partners. To ensure we provide not only work-life balance but a flexible working environment, we are carrying out flexible working pilots across our different groups. We also ensure our management teams are equipped to have conversations with their individual team members and find a flexible working plan that works best for those individuals – whether that’s working from home, changing hours to adjust around child care, or condensing their work week. We use our core beliefs of We, not I; Passion for progress; and Be your brilliant self to guide how we work together to deliver results. We introduced core beliefs for leaders to guide our leadership teams to inspire and manage their teams in alignment with our culture and values, which includes sharing information and fostering teams to find their brilliance.

Stay Away from Corporate Marketing, if Possible

Pros

- Multi-cultural environment - Flexible approach to work hours - Dynamic work routine and a relative degree of autonomy - Seems like a great place for engineers and developers

Cons

- While IT, developers, and product groups seem happy, Corporate Marketing has had the lowest employee satisfaction rates in the company for several years running. And it's a well-known issue. - Too much politics and internal battles in this specific department - Very few actual marketing specialists - The environment in the department is high-strung and directionless - The directors are allowed to browbeat and intimidate their reports - Lack of clear career path and training
