Pros

Excellent work/life balance and trust in the employees to get the job done. So if you need to do less hours one day and more another, or have an extended lunch break, go to gym classes in work hours etc, its fine and flexible. As the company has grown it's retained this somewhat 'flat hierarchy' feeling where it's not unusual to reach out to someone many grades above you for help. In some cases I've had excellent conversations as a junior engineer with the CEO even! The combination of the flexible work hours, hybrid home/office scheme, excellent compensation and inclusive supportive atmosphere makes me feel like I've really lucked out - I don't see why I would ever leave

Cons

Some project uncertainty as the company branches out and innovates in new areas

Really appreciate this thoughtful feedback. It’s great to hear how much you value the flexibility, trust and inclusive culture, these are things we’ve worked hard to protect as we grow. That openness across levels is part of what makes Arm special, and we’re glad it’s made a real difference in your experience. You’re right that pushing into new areas can bring some uncertainty, but it’s also where the most exciting breakthroughs happen. Thanks for being part of that journey and for helping shape the culture that keeps people here.

Pros

The flexible working policy is fantastic, allowing for a healthy work/life balance. The work is fast-paced and exciting, offering meaningful challenges and opportunities to grow. High challenge, high reward environment that encourages you to push boundaries. Flexible hours and generous volunteering policy that supports employees in making a positive social impact in their local community.

Cons

Occasional gaps in cross-functional communication can slow down projects or cause misalignment, though the company has recently been working to improve this as it continues to scale.

Thanks for sharing this, it’s great to hear that the pace, challenge and flexibility at Arm are hitting the right balance for you. We’re proud to offer the kind of environment where people can grow, make an impact and still have time for life beyond work, including volunteering in their communities. You’re right that scaling brings complexity, and we know cross-functional communication needs ongoing attention. It’s an area we’re actively investing in as we grow. Appreciate you being part of that evolution.

Pros

- the Budapest team has a uniquely great work culture - work on products that will be in the next generation of smart phones/smart appliances - lot of great technical development opportunities - lucrative equity based bonuses

Cons

- base pay is very mediocre, nobody would work here without the RSU bonus - recruiters do a horrible job of explaining the bonus system, make sure to calculate everything yourself before signing

Really appreciate you sharing this perspective – especially your view on the team culture in Budapest and the opportunities to shape the future of tech through our products. That blend of collaboration and technical challenge is what we strive for. We’re proud of our equity program and how it aligns long-term reward with impact, but we know it’s only effective if it’s clearly understood. Your comments about how it’s communicated are concerning, and we’ll take that seriously. If you’re open to it, please share more detail with the People team so we can improve how we onboard future candidates.
