Pros

Flexibility with telecommuting policy is a big plus. Some groups have low turnover which says a lot for the management. Overall benefits, including training opportunities, are decent.

Cons

Hard to get a promotion in many areas, unless you have the right connections. Given tight budgets, employees are more willing to make consessions on pay/bonuses - as long as it is perceived to be equitable. Many times, good resources end up leaving due to inequity.

Pros

Good place for growth. Lots of opportunity for advancement. Great atmosphere. Good benefits. Allow you to be flexible with scheduling which makes for great work-life balance.

Cons

Very deadline driven, not for everyone. Compensation is fair for those starting out but bonuses and raises have been small the last several years.
