Pros

It's a friendly environment and the employees care about your experience there. They provide enough training and are always willing to help you understand the work that is being done. Many of the employees are also willing to help you understand your mistakes and learn through them. Getting paid overtime as an intern is also a plus.

Cons

During the summer there wasn't enough work so there were some days of doing nothing. The office environment can be a bit dull and quiet, but that's nothing out of the ordinary for a tax firm.

Pros

love my coworkers, great/happy environment (although this could change depending on where you're seated), great opportunities to work with partners and directors, really interesting work, people care about you and will listen IF you speak up

Cons

no one is going to hold your hand - you need to speak up for yourself and form a good relationship with a mentor; there is a steep learning curve, but if you're willing to be patient and have the motivation to succeed, it gets much easier; busy seasons can be rough, but it's part of the job and not more than you can expect as long as you manage your work and communicate

Everything is just OK

Pros

-work/life balance is better than the big4 (our chargable hour goal is a lot lower) -pressure is lower than at a big4 -less structured than other firms (there's a lot more opportunities to work with partners/directors directly here than at other firms which seem to have more rigid structures, i.e. staffs only work with seniors who only work with managers, etc.) -salaries are about on par with market

Cons

-technology here is a joke -the firm is really cheap (e.g. limited "events" and happy hours) -not a lot of interoffice collaboration -training could improve (more trainings are done by webcast which isn't the best way to learn)
