Well established brand and sound processes and procedures. Conservative approach to financials etc.

Pros

Prestige. Good name to have in the CV. The general culture is conducive to team-work, work/life balance and a certain organisational will to win in the marketplace.

Cons

Slow to react to market conditions (i.e. pay rates). The place is rife with bureaucracy! But that is perhaps common to these F100 firms. Getting things done is a big headache

Pros

American Express has been a phenomenal company to work for, the past 2.5 years. The emphasis on raising and developing employee talent internally is tremendous. It is a great place to work, especially when looking at the work/life balance component.

Cons

There aren't too many bad things about American Express. It's almost like the ideal Fortune 100 company.
