Pros

Teamwork is valued and individuals are valued for there contributions. Very easy to balance work and personal life. Generous paid time off.

Cons

Right now, the economy. Worried if more jobs will move to India. The phone jobs are very strict as far as when you can or cannot take a break, but this is a necessary evil of call centers with large call volumes.

Pros

Work life balance in some groups. - Although even this is slowly changing as the company downsizes because of the economy. Culture of caring about employees. - by and large Collaborative environment.

Cons

Salary sucks. Enormous amount of politics. Passive Aggressive culture, people are very nice to you but scheming behind your back! Start paying more to your high performers to retain talent. Some parts of Amex are just full of people with rich spouses and they dont care too much for money. However the ambitious, smart and driven people are also not compensated well. This will hurt the company in the long term.
