Pros

-Some very smart people, but lots of mediocrity as well -Pretty good benefits, vacation is sacred -Focus on development, though favoritism and cliques often prevail in hiring decisions -Superior products, brand and customer service in an industry where there is no love lost between provider and customer -Community oriented -Many very capable senior leaders, though not the same story for middle management

Cons

-Bureaucracy is crippling; consensus driven, powerpoint culture leads to extremely long decision making processes -Technology is severely outdated (still on Lotus Notes and financial reporting systems are ancient) -Extremely risk averse -Obsessively focused on quarterly earnings
