Pros

- AlphaSights has very clear progression timelines, meaning you always know when your next pay rise/promotion is coming and what you need to do to get there. It helps that these promotions are very regular. - There is a lot of scope to take ownership of new projects and processes. Leadership are very open to new ideas and are excited to give more junior colleagues the opportunity to lead. - People are amazing - everyone hired into AlphaSights is incredibly driven, friendly, kind. A lot of real friends can be made at the company.

Cons

- One criticism of the promotion structure is that it could be slightly more flexible - there is a lot of structure in place to keep promotions fair, but sometimes this means colleagues have to wait a bit longer until a promotion 'cycle'

Pros

Worked at AlphaSights for 5 years - 2 years as Associate and 3 as Manager. Can confidently say that it's a great place to start your career and will teach you valuable skills about business and how to succeed in a corporate environment. That being said, the real value proposition of working at AlphaSights is the Manager role onward. The opportunity to manage a large book of business and team of your own at age ~24 is almost unmatched across the business world. Having now left, I can say that I managed more revenue and more people than the vast majority of my peers. Those opportunities make you an extremely marketable candidate to other top firms, graduate programs, and more. On the note of graduate programs - AlphaSights also has a new sponsorship program for employees looking to go for an MBA. If you meet the tenure requirements, you can receive up to $70K in scholarship money from the firm to attend a top ranked MBA program. Not only this, but there is no requirement to come back to work at the firm after completion of the degree. I personally took advantage of this program to pursue my MBA at a top ranked program and can say that my time at AlphaSights made me extremely well prepared for not only my business school applications, but also my recruiting for my internship once I began school. AlphaSights is truly putting their money where their mouth is and investing in the long term trajectory of their employees with this program.

Cons

The Associate job can get repetitive, for sure. And if you're not a high performer, your base salary alone is going to be very tight to live on in premium cities like New York, London, San Francisco, etc. But if you're a strong performer, the bonus structure is very appealing and you make good money. The Manager role can also be a burn out as you can be stuck answering client emails late every night and can often feel like you are always "on call". The variable compensation can often also feel very out of your control and like not all teams/managers have the same opportunity for performance.
