Pros

- The co workers you trauma bond with. I made life long friends from AlphaSights, but they are built on shared mental abuse.

Cons

- You will be micromanaged until you are not able to think independently . Your relationship with your manager will be nice on the surface but based on fear and intimidation. You can hit your metrics every month but you will be asked weekly what you can do better. - Don't bother bringing up mental health to your superiors, it will be used against you and brushed off. I now have episodes of dissociation as a defense mechanism based on triggers from this job and the constant "constructive" feedback you get. This is just a job and none of it matters. If you are reading this and still employed at AlphaSights I beg that you turn your brain off in your 1 on 1 meetings so you don't get severe emotional damage from the constant degrading comments. Just nod your head and agree. - The SF office is a joke. With unbelievable turnover, our SVP said it was their core mission to fix turnover. The solution was rewarding the highest performing associates with a lunch-in that was just used as time to interrogate us as to why we were unhappy. Any complaint was immediately expelled. Oh and shortly after the mission of retention was announced, the person spearheading it left. - You are held like cattle until 6pm. If you are good at the job you are very efficient. Often I was done with work at 4 and then forced to sit mindlessly for 2 extra hours for appearances. - Don't think for a second that your clients (especially consulting) respect you. I have met several consultants outside of work and hear the nicknames they have for AlphaSights employees that constantly hound them. - Another review already said it, but "work is not supposed to be fun" Max Cartellieri.

Pros

- Everyone is young and relatable in which associates can openly vent to each other about how much they hate the job. - The base pay is decent for a new grad and the only reason anyone would stay at Alphasights. - There are gems in which some managers and VPs are great people.

Cons

- A particular SVP is known to have made wildly inappropriate sexual remarks. - AlphaSights won't teach you any hard skills and the exit opportunities are slim to none unless you really spin it as a project management role or sales role. AlphaSights markets itself as a management consulting firm but unfortunately, consulting firms like Bain and McKinsey know that AlphaSights isn't 'real consulting' and know that you won't have the skills coming out of this associate role, so good luck trying to get hired in consulting after AlphaSights. - Upper management refuses make the associate job more efficient. You have to manually send out every cold email which takes up 80% of your time. No one needs a college degree for this brainless, repetitive task of clicking a single button. - Upper management is finance-bro wannabes.

Pros

If you're into partying, there is a fun culture around drinking and team outing events. Most employees were either in Greek Life or were college athletes. Most employees also went to top colleges and universities, but anyone can do this job.

Cons

1 / This is not a finance or consulting job, and will not prepare you for that career path!! - This is purely a sales/interview job. 60% of the job is messaging people on LinkedIn, sending emails, or cold calling experts and convincing them to do a call with your client. 2 / Very long hours, no work/life balance: - You're expected to work around the clock, and are basically at the client's will. It doesn't matter if you're at dinner, it's 11pm, or its the weekend, you're expected to start the project or risk being yelled at. Projects are also treated like life/death scenarios when it's literally setting up a 30 min call. 3 / Inexperienced Managers: - Chances are very high that your manager has only worked at AlphaSights, which makes it very hard for them to provide any type of career advice. 4 / Little to no diversity
