Great company with a somewhat traditional hierarchy but some elements of loosened corporate culture .

Pros

Large company with many benefits. From what I saw there was a lot of mobility within the company. It's a large established firm in an honorable profession.

Cons

At times the bureaucracy can be stifling. Red tape especially with expense reports are tedious. The company would squander $200 to verify your story than pay for a $20 train ticket.

Lower than average salaries Lots of travel No bonuses 3rd world health insurance plan No comp time Salary Emp’s work between 50 and 60 hours per week Manage treats emp’s like crap

Benefits package. I have a very good direct manager and team.

Cons

Abbott is notoriously cheap when it comes to compensating employees. We are constantly asked to do more, faster, with less. Everyone on my immediate team does the work of three people. It burns you out, especially when you aren't financially compensated. I don't even make the low end range of my job title as listed here.
