Pros

Products are innovative...but this innovation does not occur at Abbott..

Cons

Specifically ADC in Alameda...the coldest and most unwelcoming place I've ever had the displeasure of working at. All of the negative reviews here are accurate; expected to be on calls from 6 AM to 6 PM, zero transparency and extremely political. The way this company treats its employees is shameful. Forcing everyone to come back to the office with no explanation during the peak of Covid and literally only providing water and coffee to employees. This place is just a bunch of people who can't leave because of their pensions. No young talent and no encouragement to improve across departments. My life is so much better now that I'm not here.

Pros

- great middle management - abbott corporate has good benefits, it's hard to say if their culture is good because the austin office is very different than abbott corporate.

Cons

- their covid response was the worst I've ever seen. They mandated their employees return to work months ago, in spite of the rapid rise in cases, even though all our jobs can be remote and we were VERY productive when we worked from home. Not only are we required to work from the office but attendance is taken! If you do not badge in, your manager is notified. - I am close to my elderly family member and begged to be allowed to work remotely. I was denied without any hesitation. - there is very little appreciation for anyone outside of sales. there are no bonuses, not even a holiday party. - turnover is very high. especially in the last two years. - there is little work-life balance. they will expect work on nights, on weekends. - very difficult to move up in the company

Pros

Working for the brand Abbott is great

Cons

Worst regulatory management you can find. Extremely horrible in managing and so insecure that their lack of experience rubs on employees as they want to be the show stoppers. Some of Current management know nothing besides what’s in the procedures and cannot trust their employees. They look down upon their team and give extremely menial tasks to the team. If you want your career to spiral down this is the place to be! None of those in director level and above have worked in places outside Vascular so the most ignorant old fashioned lot you can come across. There’s no outside the box thinking or appreciation of perspectives. Other divisions of abbott know this is the most ignorant, inexperienced and yet the most arrogant regulatory group within the company and elsewhere.
