Pros

I found the benefits offered at Abbott were overall really good. Getting into the bonus pool is a must to really get rewarded. I worked with some incredibly smart and kind people in certain divisions. The overall mission of the company feels very warm and fuzzy.

Cons

Some divisions brought on through acquisitions are not up to Abbott's values or standards and it's going to be a long road to get them there. There is a big disconnect between what is said vs. what is done. Lots of in-fighting and politics that do not help the customers and make the workplace tough. Also, the whole corporation is pretty focused on getting people back into offices and at certain locations which limit options for individuals.

Pros

OK compensation package. Good 401K matching.

Cons

Poor or no integration plan. Superior busy with his/her own promotions, leaving you to navigate on your own. Bad politics. Incumbents were very protective of their turfs, which made integration difficult.

Pros

- Amazing and supportive direct colleagues - Willing to train and share knowledge

Cons

- Expect you to pick up full roles very quickly - Does not tolerate mistakes, even when new to role - Expects analysts to be able to troubleshoot all issues themselves, and when it is reported as it is above our knowledge, get blamed for 'late reporting' / not reporting earlier - Unable to go for lunch or toilet breaks is common, as samples are prioritized over employee's well-being - Expect lab analysts to be able to make up for other department's errors, which leads to constant urgent samples that pressurizes analysts (Normal 6.5 TAT, which was already tight, can be down to 2-3 hours) - Feedback not taken seriously, lowers employee's morale to provide feedback as no action is ever taken - Difficult to grow and evolve due to constant heavy workload
