I applied online. I interviewed at Walmart (Rockford, IL) in Oct 2010
Interview
The Human Resources manager will call you and offer an interview. Upon your acceptance, the interview will be only a day or two out. There will be three interviews- Interview one will be with HR. Interview two will be with HR and your manager and interview number three will be a panel interview. Panel interviews usually include HR, your manager, and a store manager. Even though the interviewers do their best to make you feel comfortable, it is still extremely nerve wrecking if you're not comfortable with public speaking. My worst fear was the panel interview. After each interview they will call you to set up another one. I remember thinking, ' Yes! I made it past another one. One step closer.' They often ask the same questions during each interview. You can give the same answer from a previous interview or answer differently. The questions consist of customer service. Questions such as- Describe a time when you got a positive result when dealing with a difficult customer? Tell us about a time you went above and beyond expectations? What are the pro/cons of your previous employers? For that particular question, do not slander talk any previous employers. Not only is it rude but it may turn the company away from hiring you because the way you speak about one company will more then likely determine what type of reputation Walmart will be given by you. It is ok to say things like, " I feel they are not customer oriented." Do not use any names. I recall the atmosphere at the interview to be warm and friendly with a touch of mystery. I had worked cashiering jobs before but when I found out that it was for a position in pharmacy, I was horrified. I explained to my manager that I was unfamiliar with pharmacy but she did a great job of boosting my confidence and assuring me that I would do great. You may get a call back as soon as a few hours after your last interview to a few days. This is them taking time to call your references. Once they verify your references, do your background check and pass your drug test, You're in.

Question 1
The questions were basic. Nothing to be surprised by.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Walmart (Shelton, WA) in Sep 2013
Interview
I filled out the application online, and within a week, had the initial interview. This was supposed to be in two separate appointments, but the member of management for the second part was available, so I got to do both of them at once. The first was with a young assistant manager who did a basic psyche interview like so many employers do these days. The second, with Lloyd was more about my qualifications and history. I was called back three days later and given the formal job offer by Manager Lila. All of this activity took place in the back of the store, a very warehousy part of the store that doesn't get upgraded. Finally, I got called in a couple of days later with a week long orientation schedule.

Question 1
Part of their policy states that they have some rights or control over my posts on social media. It isn't a question, just something I have a problem with.
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Walmart in Aug 2012
Interview
I applied for both Sales Associate and Cashier.
First there was the online application. Normally, you have to do a survey that takes about twenty minutes. However, it wouldn't let me proceed to the survey, so I just forgot about it. Two days later I received a call from the manager. He basically did the survey over the phone (asking scenario questions, why I want the job, availability, etc.)
I was told I'd hear back by the end of the week, and was called two days later to come in for a group interview.
The group interview consisted of myself and five other potential employees. The manager and two assistant managers were present (another manager was absent because she was on vacation).
First we introduced ourselves with our name, why we want to work at WalMart, etc. We then did a couple role-playing skits. (One person would be the customer, one person would be the associate). This was very laid-back and easy.
Then we proceeded to "speed dating". We would sit with each of the managers and they would ask us a question and within a minute we had to answer. They rotated until all three managers had asked us two questions each.
We ended the interview with the WalMart cheer. We were all told that we'd hear back within 48 hours, regardless of whether they chose to hire us (which is nice.)
Overall a very positive experience. Great management.
