I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Uber
Interview
Awful Interview Experience.
I was referred by a former coworker. I got through the initial phone screen with the manager and an employee.
On the day of the in-person interview, the second interviewer asked me questions that he did not know the answers to. It was very awkward and unprofessional. After four hours of interview I did not get to meet the hiring manager even though he was originally on the schedule. If this is an indicative of how Uber treats its potential employees then it does not seem like a good place to work.
I accepted a job offer from an even bigger and reputable company the next week.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3+ months. I interviewed at Uber (Pittsburgh, PA) in Aug 2015
Interview
I was contacted by a recruiter. Phone interview, followed by a homework round which was given a week's time, followed by 5 personal interviews onsite. 4 of the personal interviews were technical and the final one was with the hiring manager. The people who interviewed me were really smart and very much engaging. However there was a long hiatus between rounds and the communication by the recruiter during this period was minimal.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Phone interview questions were to test the basics in the area that I was interviewing in.
I applied online. I interviewed at Uber (San Francisco, CA) in May 2015
Interview
After the initial phone screen, I had a phone interview with 2 software engineers. Using Coderpad.io, I was asked to program a solution for 2 problems, which they had preprepared with some existing boilerplate code. I struggled with a portion of the 2nd problem, and was later told via email that they would not be continuing with the interview process.
