First, I was called by the recruitment agency. They then suggested this role of Business Development Manager. I was then contacted by the HR representative at the Bank who spoke to me about my interest in the role. She then ended the conversation by asking me if I was interested in coming in for a 1:1 discussion with her. I told her I was interested and she scheduled this meeting for a few days ahead. I then went to the office as per the appointment and met with her. She seemed friendly and intelligent. She asked me to give her copies of my resume, recommendation letters, information for background checks and also take a psychometric test. After all this was completed (about 3 hours later), she said that my possible 'manager' was interested in having a 1:1 interview. This was arranged a few days later. I was not impressed by my manager, he seemed very resigned to his role, he also seemed like he was not excited about his job anymore. Although, this meeting went alright, I was beginning to get seriously worried about working with him. Later that day, I received a call from the HR rep asking if I could come in and meet the regional manager in a few days. Although I was quite disheartened, I decided to go to the interview. The 1:1 interview with the regional manager (RM) was very different from the interview with the manager. This was clearly a talent test and the RM was checking to see if I had any major flaws (arrogance, ability to overcome, learning from mistakes, accountability etc.). I was very excited to join this company after my interview with him and received an offer from the Bank a few days later.
