I applied through other source. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Paychex (Penfield, NY) in Nov 2018
Interview
I was told they did behavioral-based interviewing but they did not. They did not seem to have much structure in their selection process. I was asked to design and develop training; the hiring manager left before my presentation.
The recruiter did not return calls nor answer emails. Recruiter excels at ghosting.
I was asked to travel for an onsite interview. I drove 300 miles and they would not reimburse my expenses. Make sure you get it in writing that they will reimburse travel expenses.

Question 1
What is one of the biggest challenges you see in leadership development.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Paychex (Rochester, NY) in Mar 2019
Interview
Brief phone screening to confirm current employment and skill set. Schedule an interview for a week after that. As I'm waiting for interviewer in the lobby, I learn that they are not in that day. I received no notice of this and no offer to reschedule the interview. I was instead interviewed by a manager of another department that was not hiring for my position. While I'm sure the person that interviewed me was qualified to do so, I still felt slighted by the fact that I had never met the person that was hiring nor did I ever hear back from them about the position (received an automated email 3 weeks after interview). Interview was very basic with questions on personality and character as well as basic coverage of my skill set.
I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Paychex (Rochester, NY) in Mar 2019
Interview
Great from start to finish. Multiple high level talent acquisitions managers interviewed me first. I was then matched with a team they found the best fit for a second interview. Finally, the 3rd interview was more comprehensive and intense, but showed they were ready to hire. I was called on the way home and offered a Temp-to Hire position. Great email and phone communication throughout.
