I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at LinkedIn in Sep 2016
Interview
I took the HackerRank challenge mid September. A recruiter then reached out a few days later telling me I got a perfect score on it. A technical interview was scheduled shortly after that. The recruiter called me to tell me I passed and that they would like to do a final technical phone screen. This one was slightly harder than the first, but not so bad. Recruiters and my interviewers were very friendly and made the process smooth.

Question 1
Make sure to know your data structures like trees and hash tables. Also, knowing runtime complexity is very important.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at LinkedIn (San Jose, CA) in Feb 2016
Interview
Interviewer is really mean and even doesn't understand the question well enough himself. Find element in rotated array (has duplicate) Find minimum in rotated array(has duplicate). I don't understand why he ask two similar questions! just got tired typing the same stuff! I said I can implement the one without duplicates and improve. He rejected: no there are duplicates. wtf...

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at LinkedIn (Mountain View, CA) in Aug 2016
Interview
Applied online, Got a 1 hr phone interview, Asked to code on collabedit. It was average difficulty question and easy to code, I could finish coding 3 questions in 20-30 min and interviewer ran out the question then we discussed about the position requirement.
But I got rejection in 2 days irrespective of I performed very well in an Interview , coded all questions correctly even confirmed by Interviewer but I got rejection because I could not ask more question details to interviewer and directly jumped to coding.
that's I did not like, Interviewer did test my code with his inputs but could not found any bug but still he was not happy with me and eventually rejected me because of his ego. I would have not expected from Linkedin this
