I applied online. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at LinkedIn in Jul 2021
Interview
I am so sad and disappointed to be writing this but, LinkedIn, DO BETTER. I was really excited when they reached out to me an initial phone interview.
The recruiter was about 15 minutes late to our scheduled call time but he apologized. He was professional and informed about the role and was helpful in answering my questions. I asked how I could prepare further for the interview with the hiring manager and was told to review the "case studies".
There are literally thousands of campaign case study examples of LinkedIn. This is very vague so I chose to focus and prep utilizing 3 of them and spent hours doing so. The interview with the hiring manager was disappointing. Not only was I never asked a single question about the case studies, she was cold and did not at all embody what I would have expected from a conversation with LinkedIn.
I asked her what the team dynamic was and she told me and I quote that they "don't know each other".
Post-interview, even though I could tell this was a bad fit, I reached out to the recruiter for the hiring manager's email so I could send a thank you note. They never responded and I never heard anything from them again.
It is completely fine that I was not the right candidate for the job but this is not how you handle things. This made me really think of LinkedIn poorly and made me feel discouraged professionally.

Question 1
- Tell me a time you had to convince someone to do something
I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at LinkedIn (San Francisco, CA)
Interview
Interview process was lengthy and fairly challenging, but also fair and transparent. I applied online and was contacted by a recruiter within a few business days. After a quick 30 minute touch base - a call with a hiring manager was scheduled for the next day. That call was also 30 minutes and involved a few behavioral questions. 2 days later - the recruiter let me know that they’d like to move me to the final round (90 minutes, panel interview + role play/case study). That was scheduled two weeks out, and I appreciated the time to prepare. They also provided a very helpful document that outlined every behavioral question I would be asked, case study parameters, and contact info for LI employees I could optionally connect with to prepare.
The final interview was a good experience. It was long - but the interviewers were polite and upbeat. They asked plenty of probing questions - but nothing unfair. After that interview, it took me about a week and a half to hear back from the recruiting team. They scheduled a call, in which they presented an offer. From there, it took another 24 hours to finalize negotiating TC details (5 weeks from initial contact to offer letter). All in all one of the better and more organized hiring experiences I’ve encountered.

Question 1
Tell us about how you leverage data to solve business problems. Tell us how you research your clients business needs. Tell about a time you took your development into your own hands.

Interview
This is my 2nd time interviewing for the CSM role. The first time interviewing was this January and it was an exceptional interview experience from the recruiters to the team. Unfortunately due to unforeseen family circumstances right before the final panel interview I had to cancel and was unable to continue.
Generally for the Client Solutions Manager role, The Interview process is as follows
-30 min Phone Screen w/ Recruiter
-30 min Interview (Virtual or Phone) w/ Hiring Manager
-45 min Interview w/ Account Executive and a current CSM
-1 Hour Panel Interview w/ mix of Managers and AE's in the form of a Presentation/Case
Now to specifically speak about my most recent Client Solutions Manager interview experience.
I applied online and the recruiter reached out the very next day. I should have known from her rude outreach that the phone screen would have the same tone.
She was late, made several attempts to be condescending in regards to my past experience and even the fact that I had reached the final stages of the process for this same role, and overall she was extremely nasty. My thoughts were to stop the screening and end the conversation (which I definitely should have). But I chose to continue on through the end.
Since she followed up to my application via Smart Recruiters, I don't have a direct e-mail contact for her, or I would be telling her directly that I do not want to move forward with the process.
I'm writing this in hopes of not shedding a negative light on Linkedin. I love their mission and think it is a great organization overall. More so, I want to shed light on how a recruiters negative rapport, lack of self awareness/people skills, and inability to conduct a positive and professional interview environment can turn great candidates off of the role and company entirely.
