I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Lawrence Berkeley Lab. It was simple, two-round interview, first phone interview was very informal, and second on-site. they always responded to all my e-mail queries in a day time which was good. Hiring process is little smooth.

The interview with the person hiring me was about an hour discussing potential research topics and methods for a research paper. It took about an hour, maybe more. Later, I met with someone from HR who gave me lots of paperwork to complete. The entire process took about 5 hours. It took a few weeks for the paperwork to get finalized.

A One hour interview, 80% technical questions. It was a panel interview which included 4 people.They told me they would get back to me in 2 weeks, but they never did and I had to call HR to find out I didn't get the job. I did not think this was very unprofessional.
