I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at IBM (Preston, North West England, England) in Jan 2016
Interview
Screening call which was followed by IPAT online test. Online test was basically IQ + analytic test. It was difficult for me as I am not very good at these kind of test. After clearing the online test I was called for Assessment day. Assessment day included 2 group. Activity one did not have right or wrong answers. We are tasked to organise a apprentice hiring event within a set budget, venue and speaker. 2nd Group activity has right and wrong answer. We were to find out the who is interviewing whom and for what role. It was more like solving a riddle with the clues provided. Following the group activity I had 2 interview, 1st interview was technical and 2nd was by a business manager.
Got a link to a platform where you were asked to answer a series of questions. The answers had to be recorded, every answer was supposed to be answered in less than 3 minutes. Beforehand, the advice was given to prepare using the STAR framework.
Important: once started, you can only interrupt the process once, since they don't want you to have unlimited preparation time for the answers. If it gets interrupted (e.g. due to network connectivity or by closing the tab) a second time, the process is stopped and your interview is basically aborted.
