Completely inappropriately handled interview - I was taken from first through to final interview being told I was the outstanding candidate and was ultimately offered the job. I then waited for a week to receive further instructions on next steps. One week became two, which has now become over one month. Within this time, I was chasing the recruiter on progress, only to be very briefly informed that another (internal) candidate had now been offered an interview...as a promotion to the job that I applied to. They then told me that I could have that internal candidates job...meaning a demotion for me? I tentatively accepted this, pending more information on what the new terms and role actually was. Again, over a month has passed...absolutely no communication back to me.
