Screening call with in house recruiter then interview by two heads of/senior members of finance department via Teams. Regarding personalised feedback, I thought the interview went well yet received a fast generic rejection within 1 working day. When asked in interview, I didn’t have experience in retail since leaving audit so hadn’t seen rebates in a previous industry role. This was evident from my CV. I’m assuming that’s the reason so it’s a little frustrating this experience requirement wasn’t specified on the advert or identified in the pre-interview screening as a dealbreaker to not waste a candidate’s time. It seemed like a slow moving and old fashioned place to work in interview, but the aftermath leaves me feeling it’s a culture of general laziness and candidates can bear the brunt of this.
