I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at AlphaSights
Interview
After my initial application on the website, I received an email with links to videos and reading material on the company. No other company I have applied to has done that. The first interview was a video recording. It is an incredibly efficient way to assess candidates. You had 5 seconds to read and prepare, 30 seconds to respond. For the second google hangout interview I was asked to prepare responses to certain questions. My interviewer was thorough and professional. She was well spoken, asked meaningful questions and dug into details about past work experiences.
I applied about 2 weeks ago and am still in the interview process.
I applied via themuse and was invited to take a 5 min video "interview".
I had to answered 5 questions where I was given 5 seconds to prepare before they started to record you with your answer to the questions. You are given 30-60 seconds to respond to the question before moving on to the next question, you cannot redo your answers! I highly suggest doing your research before starting this interview. Reading glassdoor reviews and doing a lot of research on the company and what to expect during the interview process is what helped me get my invitation for a google hangout interview that came after the video interview.
This is the stage that really threw me off. Since I've read so many wonderful reviews about the company and how "employee focused" they are, I expected a much nicer and more personable interviewer than the one I had. My interviewer had no interest in what you had to say about yourself. She went through a checklist of questions and didn't make any effort to go into more detail about your experiences. It was as if I was speaking to a wall and she just spat out the next question for you to answer.
Preparing for each step of the interview process really made me excited about the company and motivated me to try my hardest to receive an offer but unfortunately after the google interview, I am having serious doubts about the company and the environment.

Question 1
nothing unexpected, just do your research and you will be okay
Uploaded my CV and described in 200 words one of the values of the firm which I have been able to demonstrate. Received an email the next day inviting me to upload a video interview. The format and questions may have changed from what I have read here in the past; I was asked more basic competency questions such as tell us a time you have failed, what was your first job and what is your greatest achievement. The only challenge is being brief and looking directly into your camera lens whilst speaking.
