I applied through college or university. I interviewed at AlphaSights
Interview
I had the interview with Alphasights a couple months ago. It was based on two main things. First I had to do a AVA, a video interview, where it asked me a couple questions. Most of them are reffered here on the other reviews, if you study them enough you will be able to answer all of them naturally. After that I had to do a ConnectCubed which is questions to make sure your profile fits with theirs.
I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at AlphaSights (Washington, DC) in May 2015
Interview
Within about 24hrs after applying online I was sent a video and verbal math assessment to complete within 48hrs. This was the first round interview. I am still in the interview process.
The math and verbal assessments were very basic. You won't need a calculator or anything. The behavioral assessment is very similar to a Myer-Briggs personality test.
The video assessment is you recording your answers to questions. You have about 5 secs to read the questions and think of your answer and then you will have anywhere from 30-60 secs to respond. You cannot start over or pause, so make sure that you have a stable internet connection and the time to complete it. It only takes about 10-15 mins to complete.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
1. Describe AlphaSights in your own words and what a typical day of an analyst looks like.
2. What did you do with your first paycheck?
3. What was a time that you quite?
4. What was a time when you had to break/bend the rules or policies to get something done?
5. What other firms have you applied to?
I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at AlphaSights (New York, NY) in Apr 2015
Interview
Video interview followed by a phone interview. Really interesting process, not the usual however. Video interview can be intense as there is a time constraint but the questions are simple. Following the video interview you will be contacted to set up a phone interview. Similar personality and company based questions and then some.
