Pros

Location, casual work environment, fellow employees are smart and interesting.

Cons

Management is treats employees like children and then are surprised when childish behavior results. Treat people like adults and you'll need fewer micro-rules to keep them in line. Impossible to know when you are doing a good job. Even when meet (rarely stated) goals, you are not rewarded with promised bonuses/compensation. Management, especially the owner, likes to keep everyone in the dark. Good people have left because of this. When the economy picks up again, a lot more will be leaving.

Pros

Flexible work hours - Having offices in as many as 12 countries and working with people around the globe, you can work from home, getting work done is more important and required than being in office. Yardi Systems has been in existence since 1982 and they have covered most of the market in property and asset management so to say they are a stable company with a stable product., The co-workers i work with are very talented and brainstorming is an integral part of our daily work. Yardi Systems is located in beautiful Santa Barbara with mountains in the north and beach in the south, lovely location to work.

Cons

Career Advancement is slow - They mention that we promote education but few people are sent for training seminars and sessions to learn, you need to push for it yourself if you want to go study a course, Innovative ideas are not promoted - you might have good suggestions about how the product can be made more user friendly for the customer but senior management wants to stick with what is tried and tested. Favoritism and Politics are prevalent. Yardi Systems is a brand and established name in the Property Management sector and has fewer competitors so less competition, employees get complacent and hesitate to pursue new things and ideas.
