Pros

Flexible hours, virtual offices, good pay ranges.

Cons

Employees are always fearful of being laid-off. Employees are kept in the dark about future direction. Sales folks have compensation plans that encourage customer dissatisfaction. No cost of living adjustments in the last 7 years. Layoffs are a constant fear. Anne seems to think the only way to make a profit is to reduce expenses, but cutting the support staff only causes customer pain, leading to lower sales. Xerox is in a dying industry, and Anne has no clue to where Xerox should go in the future after printing.

Pros

After working for Xerox for a long time, I have seniority, long vacation time, etc. Many years ago Xerox was a fantastic place to work. Unfortunately, the cutbacks and downscaling that I've lived through have made me somewhat unhappy with where I am today. Careey opportunities and communication is good, but it depends greately on local management, and It's hard to trust what upper management is saying.

Cons

Cutbacks in Benefits, gradually losing value in the compensation package. There was a time when Xerox aimed to be the best in the industry, now average is good enough. I get work related phone calls all hours of the day and night, work/life balance is very poor.

Pros

Work/Life balance is very good in my experience.

Cons

The days of being proud to work for Xerox are gone. Communication is not open and honest. "Robust dialog" is lacking. Although Xerox as an entity may no longer be cooking the books, I perceive that a culture of duplicity and half-truths still exists in middle management. The data are made to fit expectations rather than the other way around. Ethics are given lip service.
