Pros

The amazing bonus, the huge John Lewis discount (even better when there's a price match!), time and a half on a Sunday, and the ease of being trained in other areas of the store (I worked on the checkouts but was also trained on the shop floor and the meat/fish counters)

Cons

Working part-time meant working the same shifts every week, and getting shifts covered was not encouraged, so my holiday allowance was not able to cover some evening/weekend shifts when I had pre-booked something.

Pros

The team is very cooperative and welcoming. Swapping shifts if you really need a day off is simple to do if another partner is willing, which they usuall are due to everyone working there being lovely!

Cons

as i work in ambient the work is very tiring and physical.
